Hey, remember that JumpX comes out early this month. That’s tomorrow! So we are starting off this spoiler/discussion topic with lots of stuff right away! Also Jezzy has a great buying guide for this month’s magazines which you can read here! You can also read more about Takei Festival in this topic as well! There will be updates to both as new information comes around!
Oh, and if you haven’t noticed I’m trying to make the post more fancy with images and such… Let me know what you think in the comments!

6/8: Summary and some pics of the chapter added!
6/7: Topic created. Cover, color page, and quick summary/ initial thoughts added!
Update on 6/7:
Here’s the cover in case you didn’t check out the Takei Festival topic:
Next up we have the color page for the chapter…
Ok now for the quick summery of the chapter:
Shaman King Flowers Chapter 3 Spoilers
We start the chapter with a couple flashbacks with a recap of events from Tamao. Of course, these are just copy and paste panels from previous chapters. I’ll let you play the guessing game on that for right now.
Next Tamao finds Hana but he appears to be safe so… nothing really happens from there.
Hana makes his way back to the Inn and tries to sneak past the Hanagumi… but fails! They talk, but nothing really happens from there. They are still dead.
And now we jump back to the hill and Hana looks at Amidamaru’s grave and nothing really happens from there.
Then we go to Luka’s backstory from a familiar shrine for Hao… but nothing really happens from there.
Now everybody is naked and taking a bath. Including Amidamaru! We are talking about Jumbor level of skin showing here. That’s something!
Then later, Hana started watering some flowers while talking to Amidamaru. But then… he see Luka spying on him (in Ultimo style)! Then Luka attacks with her special weapon… a Star wand! Can Hana stop her offensive? Who knows, it ends with a big “crash” sound effect. Don’t worry, this only takes up two thirds of the page.
And some initial thoughts on the chapter
Plus alot of panels feel recycled. Alot of the chapter felt that way. It didn’t feel new. It was moving alot slower than the first two, and I think the quality dropped because of it. The plot didn’t advance very far (outside of what we knew was going to happen). So it’s a bit of a “spinning-the-wheels” chapter. Hopefully the next one kicks it into some gear.
Ok, so… I think it was a pretty good chapter! As Andy said above, nothing actually important happens to the story, but they do talk about interesting/funny stuff. Also they mention Yoh and Anna several times… for which I’m happy! :3
Summary and pics
The first two pages are kind of advertising Funbari Onsen, so nothing important here. Then the story goes back to where it ended last time: Tamao and Ryu looking for Hana! When they meet in the street Hana doesn’t tell them about Yohane or the fight, since he’s not allowed to use spirits! When Hana goes home and Ryu tells Tamao that probably they were weak enough for Hana to defeat them without help. Then Tamao decides to go to Kyoto and do some research, just in case.
Hana gets home and since he couldn’t call an ambulance, he plans to use the inn’s first-aid-kit to heal Yohane himself. When he’s looking for it he encounters the Hanagumi, who are heading for the garden in order to roast some mochi. They look like teenagers even after almost 15 years, so are they dead? Can they stay young thanks to some kind of witchcraft? I think we’ll have to wait a bit longer to know what’s going on with them.
Anyway, by the time Hana gets to the graveyard again Yohane is already gone. Next, we see a flashback about Yohane and Luka’s daddy. OMG I don’t even know where to start talking about this guy, but I really hope we can see more of him soon!!
Ok now comes the random part where everyone’s naked… even the ghost, if that’s even possible. Hana decides to tell Ryu about Yohane. After the bath Hana goes to his room and tells Amidamaru that Yohane had the saddest eyes he has ever seen, and that it’s a shame that he wants to kill him.
Right in that moment, he looks through the window and sees Luka spying him across the street. The first thing that comes to his head is that she’s a secret admirer lol but when he tries to draw near her he gets attacked by her guardian spirits. They start fighting and in the last page she tells Hana that his furyoku is nothing compared to Yohane’s.

Coming Soon! Until then… Check out her great purchasing guide here!

I just suddenly realized… why does Hanagumi look like they stopped aging in their teens? Kanna must be in her 30s, right?

Thank you for the summary! Andy!
By the way, may I ask if you already know what’s the “extra” of this magazine about?
thank you!!
(also, The girls weren’t they revived? OTL – I have to “forget” the previous pilot of flowers, right? *sigh* I always thought he revived his whole team team… But it looks like not. That’s sad… )

The Hanagumi are dead? But….. Aren’t they working in the Inn for real? So they’re just ghosts/zombies/whut now?

ok first reaction as i see the color pages KYAAAAAAH! THEY ARE ALL SO CUTE CUTE !!!! OMG MATHILDA!!!
<3<3<3<3<3 OK now lets read the sumary…
hum nothing happens much in actions but it's like lots of stuff still goes on: we get to see lots of characters
About hanagumi it's just mathilda and mary who still look like teenagers, mary still is flat as a plank on the color page (speaking of which, where did Kana's giant boobs go?) I think Takei needs more teenagers characters so he can have young readers relating to them, and Hanagumi were not very developed characters, maybe Takei will have a chance to do it this time? it's seemed to me he was pretty found of them since they apear in the first illustrations and also a mary looking like characters apeared in Ultimo.
So they look young not because they're ghost but because i's fits them and there are too many adults for a teenage serie, in my opinion. But they looked just the same in hana's epoch. Takei's adults aren't as charismatic as his teenagers :/
i'm also glad Tamao is really different from Anna
We get to know about yoh and anna? wiiii
and mysterious luka and yohane's old man? ooouuh spooky :p and naked amida.. hum ok he finale gets to show off his samurai's strong chest XD
THANK YOU MANKIN TEAM!

Gaaah, so excited about this!!! I like ‘relaxing’ chapters like this, because they usually give the mangaka space and time for character development…. like it happens here, if I got it correctly. Because based on what Andy and Dit said, we get a few mentions of Yoh and Anna (wonder what happened to them, really) and on Yohane and Luka’s situation (who I have to ask, is called Luka or Ruka?)…
Speaking of which……… what exactly is up with their dad? Dit, I share your enthusiasm about him, that’s why I’m asking!!!! There’s something fishy (and awesome) going on with this guy!!!! xD
So yeah, nice work, sensei, and you too, M-T team, can’t wait to see the results of another good translation work!
(By the way I’m preparing an M-T fanart pic……. and I wanted to ask, how does everybody want to be portrayed? :3 I think I needn’t ask for Jezzy though… xD)

Japanese language doesn’t distinguish L from R, so both Luka and Ruka would be correct.
However, since her name is the Jap name for Luke (the evangelist) we’re keeping the L so that it sounds more like the original.
On a side note, Yohane is also the Jap name for one of the evangelists: John!
PS: About the M-T fanart… wow, sounds nice!! Use your imagination to surprise us, I’m looking forward to seeing how you decide to portray me!

Well, Andy seems pretty confident about the fact that the girls are dead so I’m guessing either the chapter says so or at least implies it. Otherwise I hardly believe their appearance means they are. I mean come on, just take a look at Ryu and Manta, they look almost the same as they did during the shaman fight so we can’t be sure the Hanagumi didn’t age just because Yoh, Tamao, etc. look so different now that they’re adults.
